Szomszédok was a television show, occasionally known as the Hungarian Dallas, which ran from 1987--1999 and produced 331 episodes, airing its grand finale on December 31, 1999. The show was a soap opera, addressing the lives of ordinary individuals, working and living in or about an normal lakótelep. Its characters were explored, over time, in equal thickness: which range from busy aged professionals, pensioners, up-and-coming young folks, and children climbing in their teens.
